Vintage reels are awesome. They are affordable (cheap) and can be had at yard-sales…estate-sales and on E-bay. There is a plethora of vintage reels on E-bay but I favor Daiwa...Dam Quick...Mitchell and Penn. These old reels were built to last and are reliable as well as faithful. The first spinning reel I purchased was a Daiwa 755OHRL combo back in 1970 or 71 and I still use it today. The only care these oldies need is a little TLC and they will enhance your fishing pleasure for years.... Vintage Skirted Spool Reels Daiwa 7000C Great for heavy saltwater use...in the surf or inshore. They are big...not a lightweight and are as good or better than most new reels that are comparable in size...They are available on E-bay from time to time and cost around $40.00 to $50.00.
